I totally forgot about this blog.

My bad, but the good news is I forgot about it because I've been so busy with school. And you know what that means...Student FEED Campaign!

Today is (to my knowledge) our 10th meeting, and I can't be happier with the way things are going. We have over 100 members, a few successful fundraisers, fun meetings, and a great VP.

Deets:

Before every meeting, I make a long outline of what I intend to talk about, and how I can hold the kids' attention. The outline is usually about 4 pages long, because originally, I was having issues filling the 40 minute slot I have for meetings. Topics span from the WFP, FEED updates, information on different types of malnutrition, and videos. We play Free Rice when there is extra time, too!

I have been spreading the word of SFC just by talking to people I meet. My latest target is freshmen, who often need a club to join to ease the transition. These kids are often the most excited and dedicated, which is great for raising money for a cause.

As for fundraisers, we had a great concert called Jammin' Against Famine in December. I asked a few of my friends' bands to play, and we raised about 600 dollars.

Pictures and info on other fundraisers coming later!

Making Student FEED Campaign Videos.

If you're as lucky as i am, to be surrounded by creativly superior people, you can really put them to work .

My good friends Erik and Liliya are working on posters for the concert we're planning, along with posters to encourage other students to join the SFC.

Another one of my friends, Will is an extremely talented filmmaker. We have used his skills to make two SFC videos. One for encouraging kids to join, and one recapping our booth at our school's Patriots Day (sort of a festival before the homecoming football game).

After finishing the promo, we went to our school's TV studio and asked them if they would play our video on the morning show, when it would be shown to every student at the school. It had a phenomenal response, and we increased our membership by 13% !

Here is a video i took while we were working on the Homecoming Video:

This Thursday will be our second official meeting. The last meeting was a huge success with a sold-out crowd. We are expecting the same turnout.
